Absolut Peter Miller

For most people living in the US, knowledge about who were the important artists throughout art history comes from a Swedish vodka advertising campaign. This fact, coupled with the U.S.A.’s puritanical laws governing alcohol have made Absolut Vodka ads very popular collectibles for young people, like commercial art. I wrapped unexposed photo paper around an empty Absolut Vodka bottle in the darkroom and exposed the paper by shining light on it through the bottle, thus the backwards letters and unsettling, misty quality to the images.
